Still life photography has always been the only choice for Mattias Tiedermann and his focus lies entirely on the craftsmanship and technology involved.
His love for light and expression in all forms is something that is clearly visible in his creative image-making. As a photographer one sees another side of our world, colours and shadows that would otherwise pass by us without our taking note of all the variations, he says.
For Mattias nothing is impossible. He is extremely careful in his work and more dexterous than most people. He even has a small workshop in his studio, where he´s able to fix most things that may need fixing during a photoshoot.
In his spare time Mattias likes to hunt and fish, and enjoys cooking organic gourmet food on a camping-stove in the wilderness. He shares his time between the big city and the countryside.
Since 1997 he has been based as a photographer in Stockholm. When he´s not working Mattias lives in Småland with his family in a self-renovated house with hand-blown windows.
