Award-winning New York-based fashion and celebrity photographer Stephanie Pfriender Stylander is recognized for her cinematic visual narratives that merge complex characters with sensual textures and surroundings.

After earning her Associates Degree in photography at Endicott College in Massachusetts, Stephanie moved to New York City and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from The School of Visual Arts, graduating with the highest honors in her class. She then went on to assist the legendary photographer Art Kane.

Stephanie began her career in the 1990s while based in Milan and Paris, where she earned a reputation for creating evocative images. She was chosen as one of the newest photographers to exhibit in Barcelona’s International Festival of Fashion Photography. Her work graced the pages of British GQ, British Elle, Italian Max, Uomo Harper’s Bazaar and French Glamour.

Her assignments have taken her to locations across the globe with fashion and portrait assignments as well as working with iconic actors and musicians like Keith Richards, Nicole Kidman, Aretha Franklin, Heath Ledger to name a few. She’s received numerous honors, including awards from Communication Arts, Graphis, The Society of Publication Designers and American Photography. Stephanie was also designated as one of the world’s top location photographers by American Photography in 2009.

Stephanie has been included in group shows at the Howard Greenberg, James Danziger, Serge Sorroko in New York the Spazio ex Ansaldo in Milan galleries, along with The International Center of Photography. She has also lectured at The Maine Photographic Workshops, The Art Director’s Club, Silversea and The School of Visual Arts.

Stephanie lives in New York City with her husband.
