BILLY POLS (1977) directed commercials for brands like Martini, Corona and Sportlife. His short documentary Plank was shown at prestigious festivals around the world and won prizes for Best International Film at the LA Skate Film Festival, Best Documentary at Sapporo ShortsFest in Japan and was the winner of the 7th round of NTR New Arrivals at the International Film Festival Rotterdam. His short film Tokkeloshe about a South-African myth was selected for the Golden Calf Competion and received a Shocking Shorts Honourable Mention at the Dutch Film Festival. According to the jury the film was 'outstanding on all levels'.
