This time last week we were frantically hanging art, arranging sculptures, printing catalogues and anticipating what the night could bring. We kicked things off with a 24-hour Facebook auction that surprised us all by totting up £2400 in pledges. With a bidder from Switzerland offering to shell out £900 for Rob Higgs' 'Nutcracker' piece.

But that was nothing compared to the night itself. With the prosecco poured, the auctioneer briefed and the team spruced up after some seriously late nights (George Mackay and Megan Beck you're our heroes) the live bids came flooding in. After a lively night of browsing, bidding and buying, we couldn't have finished on a finer note. Martha Tilston played us out with a poignant performance of 'Love', a song written in response to the refugee crisis.

We can't thank all of you enough for being a part of our slightly mad two week mission. From local and international artists, ceramicists, carpenters, automaton makers and musicians to our dutiful curators and amazing auctioneer. And of course the wonderful bidders. This was a real show of people power. Every penny of the £8000 raised will go directly to Save the Children's refugee crisis appeal, giving vital resources to those in desperate need.
