'New Photography 2010' presents trends in photography : Roe Ethridge, Elad Lassry, Alex Prager and Amanda Ross-Ho at MOMA New York

The New York Museum of Modern Art sees the most recent photography trends embodied in four photographers in particular: Roe Ethridge, Elad Lassry, Alex Prager and Amanda Ross-Ho. They all utilise the seductive language of film and advertising and explore the relation between unbiased and constructed photographs.

While Ethridge designed his pictures editorially and draws from existing source material, Lassty defines his procedure as one, which consumes pictures, using Hollywood ads and illustrations.

Seasoned GoSee readers will be familiar with Alex Prager, who is inspired by Pulp Fiction and fashion imagery by Guy Bourdin. She composes cinematic scenes with loud make-up and polyester. Ross-Ho works with found pictures and sheetrock, and envisions the different phases of the creative process.

Curator Roxana Carcoci, with the support of the Carl Jacobs Foundation, created the exhibition. GoSee presents a preview and can warmly recommend further investigation of the photographers' works.
