Fine spun mysticism from Seattle - Mandy Greer's 'Honey and Lightning' at Roq La Rue Gallery

Just like Matthew Barney, Mandy Greer is 'Back to Nature'. The American artist creates mythological and mystic worlds, characters from fairytales and dark folklore stories.

Layer by layer, fabric by fabric, knotted, twisted, knitted, everything has the air of nature about it and is simultaneously otherworldly. Seattle’s Roq La Rue Gallery presents these mysterious and undecipherable pieces.

Mandy herself calls her work mixed-media installation. She sees herself as a multidisciplinary artist. Work by the art graduate has been displayed in numerous galleries and museums. All of this may sound very sober, but the work certainly isn’t. And we mean that in the most positive sense.

A Mandy Greer exhibition is an experience that leads you into a magical forest, through entangled clothes and wild draped sheets to an enchanted atmosphere.

The exhibition consists of large installations, photography series of her work, as well as several small works such as headdress. All under the title of 'Honey and Lightning’. We are more than happy to be struck so sweetly!
