Hous Projects, New York, presents Versus - photographic comparisons in reflection of our time

A new decade calls for reflection and new opposites. Curator Ruben Natal San Miguel has pulled together the works of 18 up-and-coming and established photographers, to provide an in-depth appraisal of photography and to identify the latest accomplishments of our time.

Thus, each artist is compared to another, in terms of composition, style, light and technique. The confrontation reveals a cornucopia of the various incarnations of imagery, which reflect the courageous banality of everyday life in a contemporary and relevant fashion.

The photographic encounters entail: Brian Ulrich vs. Alex Leme, Mickalene Thomas vs. Nadine Rovner, Hank Willis Thomas vs. Cara Phillips, Amy Elkins vs. Molly Landreth, Matthew Pillsbury vs. Kris Graves, Phil Toledano vs. Elizabeth Fleming, Zoe Strauss vs. Ruben Natal-San Miguel, Jen Davis vs. Eric Ogden and Michael Wolf vs. Gina Levay.
