White Lakes. Painting versus Photography. Michelle Jezierski versus Jan von Holleben - exhibition at Pool Gallery Berlin.

Jan von Holleben returned from a photo shoot in Norway with graphic black/white photos that transported his newly found fascination for the surfaces of the snow covered mountain lakes. Michelle Jezierski chose his colourless import as the stage for her contrasting experiments with colour. ‘White Lakes’ is photography vs. painting. Reality vs. Surrealism.

The collaboration resulted in hybrid worlds, somewhere between reality, magic, abstraction and palpable landscapes. This marriage of photography and painting is far more than a collage. It is the creative action of melting two separate visions into one unite piece.

Michelle Jezierski studied Sculpture at the UdK and in 2008, graduated with a Masters in Painting with Valérie Favre. Her works are housed in international collections. She lives and works in Berlin.

Jan von Holleben is a freelance photographer. His works has been exhibited and published on an international scale. He currently also lives and works in Berlin.

Until 28 August, Pool Gallery presents the first shared exhibition of both artists’ works.
