GoSee loves Illustration! Illustrative Festival in Berlin with Anja Wiroth, Nina Lewett, .... & Freistil launches illustration portal
Following Paris and Zurich, the ILLUSTRATIVE is celebrating the most exciting contemporary graphic arts, for the fifth time from 16 October until 1 November. The two week festival, which includes conferences, film programmes and parties, is centred around an exhibition of 60 international, renowned illustrators. This not only shows the quality and imagination of the new graphics, but also the visual influences of graphic design, illustration, book art, comic, conceptual art and animation which spill into and influence the world of art.
During the portfolio show on 17 October, work can also be viewed by GoSee member NINA LEWETT, whose leather portfolio will be on display at Designtaxi, or the latest works by ANJA WIROTH’s illustrators. LORENZO PETRANTONI, one of Anja’s talented illustrators, whose wonderful short film we presented on GoSee, has works on display in the main exhibition. New illustrations by MARTIN HAAKE, OLAF HAJEK and CHRISTIAN MONTENEGRO will also be on show.
We have attached the work of two very promising talents that caught our eye: Korean born illustrator Eva Eun-Sil Han, who lives in Belgium and has already been exhibited in Brussels, Bilbao, Florida and Berlin, as well as Aya Kato from Japan. View more work and the event’s all encompassing programme on the Illustrative website.
Raban Ruddigkeit’s FREISTIL is another elegant example of a jump from print to the internet on www.freistil-online.de. The illustration compendium hosts an entire portal for illustration. Illustrators and guest contributors report from and on the world of illustration. Both editorial, advertising and fashion illustrations are covered, as well as comics, art and motion. Books, magazines and websites are reviewed, and theses, unions and schools are introduced.
