Veer presents new and exclusive fonts for 2010, including Alejandro Paul's new Business Penmanship type

Veer, creators and providers of value for money visual elements and design related products, have added a variety of new fonts to their already elaborate collection, including fonts like Alejandro Paul’s latest script font; ‘Business Penmanship’.

Alejandro Paul is one of Veer’s most sought after typographers. His early works were presented with countless awards, such as the Bienal Tipos Latinos in Latin America and the Type Directors Club in North America. His new font, Business Penmanship, is an ode to past times, when typography played a major role in business day-to-day life. It encompasses over 1,200 symbols, including ligatures, stylistic alternatives and a series of swashes and ornaments. The font also includes symbols from Romanic languages in Western and Central Europe, as well as the Baltic States.

In addition to Business Permanship, Veer presents plenty of other exclusive fonts:

- Laguna Beach by Jason Walcott is an unconnected font, whose light and foot loose characteristics of handwriting recall easygoing ‘60s beach culture.

- Martian Text, also created by Jason Walcott, is a strong stylised geometric font with the circle as a main element. It encompasses aspects of Futurism and Art Déco style.

- Paralucent Text by Rian Hughes, a new version of the original Paralucent, was changed to suit small font sizes due to an increase in demand. Now it has wider tracking, more open counters and a larger distance between the line and arch. The font is available in a simple and practical set of four: ‘Buch’, Buch italic’, ‘bold’ and ‘italic bold’. All Central European languages are supported by the OpenType-Format.

- Stefan Hattenbach’s ‘Replay’ has revived a classic 18th century font by William Caslon and breathed contemporary life into it. It is available in various versions; three normal, three italic and one display, each with lowercase letters, various numbers, swashes, additional ligature and a variety of stylistic ornaments.

To launch the new exclusive fonts, Veer is offering clients a free type transfer set upon registration, which contains sic fonts from Veer’s online collection. These font samples can be used on a wide range of surfaces. This enables clients to take a closer look at the Veer fonts and test out the entire font palette in a playful way. Details can be found on www.veer.com/ideas/typetransfers/. Offer is limited and subject to terms and conditons.

Besides the latest exclusive fonts, Veer has also launched many other fonts, including Adios, Semilla, Theorem and Biographer by Alejandro Paul, Beauchef by Juan Pablo De Gregorio, De Soto by Stephen Rapp, Moped and Phaeton by Randy Jones, countless new fonts by the important French Foundry Porchez Typofonderie, as well as 40 new fonts by TypeTrust.

The Veer collection ties in with other renowned collections such as Umbrella™, which comprises works such as Compendium by Alejandro Paul, Grant Avenue by Christian Robertson and Cordial Bloom by Riccardo Olocco and Daniele Zanoni.

The ‘Veer Ideas’ community website now also contains a new section titled ‘Kerned Events’. This is dedicated to the new fonts and the use of typography in various disciplines. Veer and an increasing number of graphic designers update kerned Events on a daily basis worldwide. By doing so they demonstrate a playful and creative approach to typography.

Veer offers over 9,000 fonts in collections such as Umbrella with stylish, handpicked display fonts from all over the world; Jukebox™, inspired by sign painting and typical American style; Cabinet™ with distinct text families for large projects and business systems, including those of international foundries such as TypeTogether; and Red Rooster with new designs and interpretations of historic fonts.
