Gebräu 1 : exhibition of young photographers' work at the Ganter Brewery in Freiburg

Contemporary photography is being shown at a place where top fermented liquids once flowed into expectant barrels. Throughout September, the temporarily empty production warehouse at Ganter’s traditional brewery in Freiburg will become a brew kettle for young photographers. Thirteen artists from Germany, Austria and Switzerland will present their latest work for three weeks.

Two of these said photographers are Magdalena Fischer and Marlon Kowalski. Magdalena Fischer’s "Junior Athletes" series shows the more delicate, fragile side of sportsmen and women. Marlon Kowalski provides a more critical slant on the medium of photography and the construction of medial realities.

The event is curated and organised by Freiburg-based Architecture Professor Harald Roser and Photography student Joscha Bruckert, who also founded and owns ROMKA magazine.

The exhibition at GEBRÄU 1 opens with a private view on 18.09. from 7pm onwards.
