Getty Images photographers Brent Stirton, Paula Bronstein and John Moore have been invited by the Festival Visa Pour l'Image in Perpignan (France) to present their work. The pictures can be seen from August 30 until September 21, 2008 at one the leading festivals in the field of photojournalism.

Brent Stirton will be showing his award-winning takes of a gorilla massacre in the Congo. His jolting pictures pushed the struggle of the species' preservation into public focus.

Paula Bronstein
photographically documents the tense situation in Afghanistan since the outbreak of the war in 2001. Her exhibition will comprise an array of impressing pictures of the events and changes in Afghanistan.

Another part of the festival's official programme will be a presentation of John Moore's work in Pakistan, most notably the pictures of Benazir Bhutto’s assassination, which are an outstanding piece of the oeuvre. John Moore was presented with two awards in the “Spot News” category at the World Press Photo Awards 2008. In addition to this, he was recently awarded the prestigious Robert Capa gold medal.

This year, Getty Images will be the festival's sponsor for the first time. This engagement will continue for the next three years. Adrian Murrell, Senior Vice President of Editorial Imagery at Getty Images states on the participation at the festival: “We are proud to have the opportunity to support this leading event for photojournalists. The festival is a unique forum for photojournalists, editors and people in the media to get together. Here, new ideas can be discussed and work can be seen, which is considered to be the best produced by photojournalists in the world today. We are especially pleased to see some of our most talented photojournalists being presented in the context of this year's festival.”
