GoSee Tip : cutlog - the new fair for new art including the ARTE prize, 20 - 23 October at the Parisian Bourse - a GoSee must-see
If you have an eye for art - you have to Go & See cutlog, the Parisian, cutting-edge contemporary art fair dedicated to promoting international galleries that are supporting emerging artists, holding its third edition from the 20th to the 23rd of October 2011. The galleries of cutlog 2011 will present artworks from their emerging artists, as well as the latest works from their established positions. Cutlog is both an alternative and a complement to the other art fairs.
Cutlog is held under the dome of the Bourse de Commerce, France’s historical equivalent of Wall Street. Each year, it selects 35 to 40 international and french galleries, offering a new visibility and a move away from Parisian art fairs. Since its launch three years ago, cutlog has steadily gained the attention of the upper crust of worldwide press, collectors, museum directors, curators and art lovers.
The fair is open to the Guests of Honor and the press on Wednesday 19th, followed by 4 days of open views alongside themed conferences and artist film screenings. The French Ministry of Culture and Communication has agreed to place cutlog under its patronage and among the sponsors you find big players such as Mercedes Benz and the Arte TV channel.
ARTE / cutlog prize - at cutlog 2011, ARTE, the Franco-German TV network, is investing in the cutting edge discovery of art. The ARTE / cutlog Prize will reward an artist exhibited at cutlog 2011 and the prize will be presented at the Bourse de Commerce in Paris during the fair.
The three selection criteria are originality, relevance of the work and artistic career, the potential of working on the art scene and consistency of the artistic process. This prize aims to reward the talent and creativity of an emerging contemporary artist. The work and the winner’s artistic approach will correspond to the values upheld by the TV network: boldness, creativity and commitment. On Friday, October 21st, a jury comprising art world insiders will award the ARTE/cutlog 2011 prize.
Members of the jury:
• Mr. Fabrice Hergott, Director of the Paris Museum Modern Art
• Mrs. Camille Morineau, curator of the Centre Pompidou
