Hahnemühle : Anniversary Photo Award to mark the 425 years

Ever since being founded in 1584, Hahnemühle in Dassel have been demonstrating their knowledge of an ancient handcraft: making beautiful, unique paper using pure source water and high quality materials. The traditions, which have been preserved for centuries and a sensitivity to creative needs, guarantee the highest quality. Fine artists and photographers in over 70 countries choose Hahnemühle for its originality – and originality also happens to be the subject of the Hahnemühle Anniversary Photo Award.

The international competition calls for the original eye of the photographer : be it on people, objects, moods – an “emphasis is placed on the individual eye for originality”, says Jörg Adomat, Director, Hahnemühle FineArt. Each entry is graded for the Hahnemühle Anniversary Photo Award. Up to four pictures – printed on A4 Hahnemühle paper can be entered per person.

Prizes worth up to 36,000 Euro await the winner. In addition to this, the jury will also be handing over additional prizes in the categories “People & Portrait”, “Landscape & Nature“ and “Architecture & Still Life“. As well as 16 winning images, the jury will shortlist a further 24, which will be taken up by the Hahnemühle Anniversary Collection. This is a travelling exhibition, which will be touring the world’s photo metropolises in 2010. Stops are planned in Berlin, Paris, London New York and Tokyo. A publication will be created to accompany the exhibition. The closing date is 30.06.2009, entry requirements can be found online.
