Wedding Dress #2, Berlin : Creative festival & competition

The WEDDING DRESS #2 festival for urban fashion and art will take place from 25 January until 10 February 2008 alongside Berlin Fashion Week. The festival is aimed at drawing attention to the future development of the Wedding area in Berlin, it aims to inspire and invite planners, creatives, politicians, architects and locals to suggest proposals. The event’s programme includes 20 local outlets with private views and parties, discussion evenings, films and performances.

In addition to this, the festival has joined with the *Create your own Wedding Space* competition which requires people to enter concepts for the commercial properties until 29.02.2008. Fashion labels, designers, architects, artists and chefs and other exciting projects are all challenged to send in their entries. Proposals could include anything from a gallery exhibition, to a temporary showroom for fashion designers to an original gastronomic experience. A total of 15 commercial properties are available rent free for a year. The three best concepts will also receive further financial support.
