JEWELLERY •  Bjorg Jewellery - "Not all those who wander are lost" 2012 Kollektion

Bjorg führt aus : "Combining fragile and organic structures with an aesthetic influenced by futurism and geometry, the collection sets to blend ancient tales with modern mythologies of sci-fi and their futuristic imagery; invoking concepts like timetravel, parallel universes and space distortion.

Through a pale, at times translucent colour palette, natural materials like feathers and horsehair are juxtaposed with iridescent colours, industrial structures and mutated shapes. All pieces are handmade."

Und weiter : "The Classic line is all 925 silver with precious stones and 18 carat gold platings.

A trademark is the use of uncut diamonds, raw crystals and precious stones with a natural finish.

The Odyssey line is bronze based with 18 carat gold and rhutinium platings. Intimate parts, such as earring studs, are solid 925 silver. All materials like opals, crystals, feathers and horsehair are 100 % natural and obtained in accordance to environmental preservation."

About : Bjørg Nordli-Mathisen grew up in the north of Norway and began making one-of-a-kind jewellery whilst living in India in 2004. With a background from the arts, she has upheld a nomadic lifestyle, always drifting towards new corners of the world in search of inspiration.

Bjørg releases two collections per year. The Classic collection has its foundation in silver, diamonds and precious stones whilst the Odyssey collection represents new directions through its foundation in bronze. All materials are 100 % natural and obtained in accordance to environmental preservation.

Whether the specific inspiration comes from surrealism, Charles Darwin experiments or ancient myths, there is always a link through an industrial approach to conveying nature in a piece of jewellery.
