Starstyling present their Spring/Summer 2011 collection ANTI AVANTI in Berlin
Starstyling presented their Spring/Summer 2011 ‘ANTI AVANTI’ collection, in cooperation with G-SHOCK, at Mercedes-Benz Berlin Fashion Week, which was somewhat strained by the soaring temperatures. The show was as always the busiest and best of them all.
In contrast to their previous Autumn/Winter collection, infused with medieval and skimpy Madonna looks, Starstyling opted for a natural, hippie style for their upcoming Spring/Summer 2011 collection.
Casual denim creations and floaty jersey maxi dresses – were modelled, amongst others, by the likes of internationally renowned albino model Shaun Ross and Mario Gallo, who has a prosthetic leg. The choice of models provided an added kick to Starstyling’s highly anticipated show.
In keeping with the tropical temperatures, they sent their male models out topless, in short shorts and with a holographic ‘Avanti’ print adorned on their backs. Their female counterparts donned triangle tops and bikini bottoms, with slung over airy kaftans.
“This is probably our most wearable collection to date, however we are still against uniform-like outfits. The main aim of our interpretation of hippie style is for our fans and clients to have fun wearing it and go wild with their own choice of styling”, says Katja Schlegel, designer at the Berlin label. The catwalk looks were accentuated with watches from the elaborate G-SHOCK portfolio, as well as selected pieces from the G-SHOCK x Starstyling Design Edition, which sees 20 models from the current G-SHOCK collection adorned with their own individual Starstyling wristband.
The collection will hit selected trend stores and the www.starstyling.net online shop in March 2011. Prices range from 40 Euro for basic pieces to 450 Euro for elaborate, handcrafted jackets and kaftans.
