Swarovski Crystallized "Ways to Say Black" - with Sonia Rykiel, Jean Paul Gaultier, ... and the LBD for cancer relief

‘The little black dress’ or LBD is more than just apparel. It is a classic. And thanks to Crystallized’s collaboration with the international fashion elite, it has even become a source of cancer relief. ‘Ways to Say Black’ is a charity project that truly sparkles and shines.

In the previous year, Crystallized - Swarovski Elements invited 22 leading designers and promising talents to create a black dress. A rhinestone ocean of creations ensued by Missoni, Sonia Rykiel, Jean Paul Gaultier, Donna Karen New York, Fendi, Vivienne Westwood, Valentino and many more.

The results were presented at a grand gala during the couture shows in Paris. Besides the designers themselves, guests attended from the crème de la crème of the fashion metropolis, such as French Vogue Editor in Chief Carine Roitfeld.

The aim of the project is an auction in September at the Phillips de Pury House in New York, where all 22 dresses will be up for sale. All proceeds will be donated to the American Cancer Society and the French Ligue nationale contre le cancer.

The video of the event has a running commentary by Mélanie Laurent, Martin Grant and Gaspard Yurkievich amongst others. In Mme Roitfelds words: "I think it’s a great exhibition. We are very privileged in what we are doing, so if we can help I think it’s the best."
