andandand - Christa Klubert presents the graduate project on networking portrait photography by photographer Christian ROLFES

Young photographer Christian ROLFES managed to reinvent portrait photography just a tiny little bit with his diploma. He is part of a generation that not only grew with an overarching networking habit but also make the most out of the 2.5 infrastructure. His newest project, andandand.net is the perfect example of this distinct species of young talent, which saw the ADC crown him the talent of the year.

Andandand.net is a gateway to a new style of photography. The project was brought to life because of the new internationally perceivable urge of users to portray and represent themselves in and through social media. Digital narcissists could apply via Facebook and a videochat projection transported the models from all over the world directly into the studio.

Despite the distance, the photographer could act and react with his camera, look for particular takes and perspectives and give his 'actors' online commands.
