Atopic Bodies : Mr & Mrs Myth, aka The Myths - a project as normal and weird as any other

Mr. & Mrs. Myth are normal and weird, just like everyone else. They stroll through town, hold hands and chat with passers by. However, they don’t quite look right.

Anthropologist Ted Polhemus says that what may be perceived as attractive by one culture, may be deemed absolutely hideous by another. The ATOPOS Cultural Organization has based their ATOPIC BODIES (ONE) project on this. It is a collaboration with designer Charlie Le Mindu.

Mr. & Mrs. Myth aka The Myths star in Vassilis Karidi’s film, featuring fashion designs by Nicholas Georgiou. Their performance presents the Le Mindu creations: from voluminous headwear with a touch, no make that a big smattering of extravaganza.

ATOPIC BODIES (ONE) was created especially for the ART-ATHINA debut and launches the NOT A TOY event series, which will take place in 2010 and 2011 in Metaxourgio, Athens.
