The Saatchi & Saatchi campaign for the new YARIS Hybrid by Toyota is heading for round two in mid September – once again with popular German TV comedy duo Axel Prahl and Jan Josef Liefers.

After Axel Prahl and his colleague Jan Josef Liefers managed to convince consumers of the dynamic abilities of the new Yaris Hybrid in the first TV spot (as reported by GoSee), this latest film sees the well-rehearsed double act focus on winning energy – each in their own way.

Director Martin Schmid captured the contrasting characters once again. Jan Josef tries to channel energy shaman style, whilst a more down to earth Axel Prahl has a more efficient and grounded approach, preferring to use his foot on the brake to control the car.

Indeed, the ad promotes how a simple use of the brakes in the YARIS Hybrid gains electric energy, thus saving fuel.

Germany’s most popular TV comedy act Jan Josef Liefers and Axel Prahl are the ideal partners to provide the Hybrid with an emotional attachment.’

The latest work by Lovemarks Company Saatchi & Saatchi is in keeping with their campaigns in previous years for Deutsche Telekom, Veltins and Toyota. The TV spot produced by JO!SCHMID Filmproduktion GmbH, Berlin has been on air since 8 September on channels including SAT.1, PRO 7, Kabel 1, RTL, VOX, n-tv, DMAX, Tele 5 and SPORT1.
