Saatchi & Saatchi Showcase : NDS - New Directors' Showcase discovers hot new talent! Saatchi & Saatchi goes clubbing!

In Cannes, Saatchi & Saatchi presented a line up of the world’s best upcoming directors. “Who’s next?” was the title of the 19th Saatchi & Saatchi New Directors’ Showcase (NDS). To find the most creative newcomers, the 150 Saatchi offices that are spread all over the world were asked to nominate candidates. The Saatchi & Saatchi Worldwide Creative Board selected a total of 23 talents from several hundred nominees. These, and many more young directors, can be discovered on their permanent YOUTUBE page.

This year, Saatchi & Saatchi Germany held their first “New German Directors' Showcase" (NGDSC), a directorial talent competition in keeping with the international Saatchi & Saatchi model. The winners were successfully presented during the ADC Congress in Berlin. From the 15 selected pieces – GoSee presents several of these here - one director duo managed to make it into the international Saatchi & Saatchi Showcase, which was presented in Cannes. The selected piece was “Formic” a short film by Florian Wittmann and Roman Kälin (Production: Filmakademie Baden Württemberg).

When we decided to support German director talents a year ago, we were of course hoping that one or the other could use this as a launching pad into international business. Thus we are all the more pleased, that this has really happened in the first year. Hence we are looking forward to the NGDSC 2010 and perhaps there will be a German photographer, who has recently switched to become a commercial spot genius.”, enthused Michael M. And now for some more enjoyable news: Saatchi & Saatchi goes clubbing! Frankfurt has a new club – the NU SOUL in the Saatchi & Saatchi space. The makers are the Zeleke brothers Taff, Mengie and Yeshim, who used to run the "Ich weiß" and "Unity" club nights. The interior design is by Tobias Rehberger, who was awarded the Golden Lion in Venice for the design of his Biennale café. In addition to the lunch special which is open to both employees and the public, evening celebrations will also take place. Current club nights are on Thursdays and Saturdays.
