Second Glance. Porcelain specialist Villeroy & Boch and illustrator Ebon Heath work hand-in-hand hundredfold
Villeroy & Boch has always shown a keen interest in art but also likes to actively participate in it too. Arguably not in such a spectacular fashion when Anna and Eugène Boch, grand children of Jean-François Boch, the founder of the Villeroy & Boch company in Mettlach (1809), who were close friends of Gauguin or even van Gogh....
The current 'Second Glance' project was presented to the public on the 9th of May at the Seven Star Gallery in Berlin. A very exclusive affair it was indeed. The project is a joint effort of Villeroy & Boch with American typography-artist Ebon Heath and features 100 ceramic works of art – basins to be precise. The film offers an insight into perspectives, views and opinions.
Following the initial presentation, the art works will stop at various metropolises all over the globe before being sold off in an online auction. Some of the proceeds will be donated to the Kinder-Kunst- Museum e.V. - Berlin International.
The film features the wisdom of none other than Ebon Heath himself or the likes of Boch-heir and photographer Michel von Boch. Most definitely worth checking out.
