Inverted Space Molecules by Bigert & Bergström - our world in spheres at the first Biennale for Light Art
We have known for quite some time now that the world is round. Now Bigert & Bergström present what our world would look like in multiple spheres at the world’s first Biennale of Light Art; ‘Open Light in Private Spaces’, which will take place as part of Europe’s 2010 cultural capital RUHR events.
Lars Bergström and Mats Bigert have worked as an artistic duo since 1986. In their ‘Inverted Space Molecules’ piece they explore space from a different perspective.
The entire Biennale is arranged in a similar way: 60 residents of the cities and communities in the so-called Ruhr Valley offer their private spaces to present works by internationally renowned artists. The exhibition spaces range from an 8 year old kid’s room, to a funeral parlour and a barn.
Bigert & Bergström’s installation will be on display with the Schröder family in Fröndenberg.
A shuttle bus tours the individual Biennale stops on an almost daily basis. The ticket is valid for all 60 stops and the entire duration of the exhibition.
