Norwegian Wood Competition - the search for the perfect poster design for the Murakami film adaptation

Norwegian Wood, the bestseller by Haruki Murakami has been made into a movie and will bring joy to cinemagoers from mid-March. Anh Hung Tran, who already headed the production of ‘The Scent of the Green Papaya’, directs the film. None other than Radiohead member Jonny Greenwood composed the music.

If that brief name dropping session made you feel right at home, then sit up and pay attention - there is one vacancy in the film’s creative army: they are still looking for the perfect poster design.

Soda Pictures arranged the competition for designers to be. The top ten of all chosen poster designs will be exhibited from the 4th to the 25th of March in the independent Curzon Soho cinema in Central London. A committee, which includes director Anh Hung Tran, the Curzon Soho and the renowned All City film poster designers, will choose the winning poster.

The competition winner will receive an original, signed Norwegian Wood poster, a Murakami collection, the film soundtrack on CD as well as a limited edition of a Stanley Donwood prints. Furthermore, the design will be distributed through 'Don't Panic' promotion packs all over the UK.
