The love between children and their dolls is a unique one and often lasts for a whole lifetime. There are dozens of ways that children can identify themselves with their playfellows: dolls are always loyal, are the best listeners and are always there for you. No one else is granted as deep an insight into the soul and the life of a child as they are. It never becomes altogether clear who takes care of whom and who came first.

In his doll series, Achim Lippoth shows how children merge with their dolls. He was inspired by dogs and their owners, who tend to grow similar over time and adopt specific traits from one another.

The doll series was published in KIDS WEAR Vol. 31. Catrin Hansmerten was responsible for styling, hair and make-up by Jenny Burghardt. The pictures were taken at GLASHAUS and PRODUCTION UNIT was in charge of the production. Stefan Kranefeld took care of post production.
