Andrea Heberger : gigantic - the FOODSIDE motif on show at the RUHR European Capital of Culture 2010 event on the closed A44 motorway, editorial for KURV magazine and personal work

New entry Uwe ZISS’ first image has defied all dimensions. The ‘Foodside’ mega image measures 2.5m high and 50m wide – probably making it one of the largest exhibited photos in the world.

It was displayed in its full glory on the German A40/B1 motorway, which was closed to traffic on 18 June as part of the RUHR European Capital of Culture 2010 series of events.

Uwe created his ‘Foodside’ landscape using a composition of hundreds of individual photos. The landscape is particularly special as it is made up of images of groceries that we use on a daily basis.

The beginning and end of the work is merged together. It integrates the element of time by mirroring the cyclical rhythm of the times of day and year.

All of the image elements can be moved around until the very end, which enables extreme portrait and landscape formats. It also allows maximum creative freedom.

Uwe is just as variable as his images – food and liquids, film, stills, animals and of course composing all belong to his repertoire. An overview of foodside can be viewed on the agency’s website www.andreaheberger.de or on their blog: www.andreaheberger.de/blog.

Marcus PUMMER shot the opulent ‘Money Can't Buy Love’ spread for KURV magazine, 021.

Marcus on the shoot: “The theme of the shoot is unrequited love, the portrayal of a beautiful, wealthy yet lonely woman who tries to buy love only to be disappointed when the object of her desire ultimately breaks her heart.”

INGO Nahrwold c/o BIGOUDI carried out the styling and Stelli was in charge of the hair. Matilda Sundqvist and Eric Anderson posed for the camera. Raphael Speidel and Timotheus Theisen were the on-shoot assistants.

The location was in Berlin, GoSee Member CLAAS CROPP headed the production and GoSee Member RETOUCHED took care of the post production.

GoSee presents several motifs by the Hamburg-based photographer. The team comprised stylist CHANTAL Ritter c/o ARTISTGROUPMIERAU and hair and make-up artist Karim Amerchih.
