Frank Meyl : photographs the Art Museum Milwaukee, Hasselblad Masters Finalist and nominee for the Hahnemühle Photo Award

Frank Meyl was commissioned by the Art Museum Milwaukee to photograph the museum building by architect Santiago Calatrava. To mark the opening of “The Last Decade“ exhibition, the museum was lit up in bright pink in its first elaborate light installation. The building by Michigan Lake, which was opened in 2001, was (according to the architect) inspired by a sculpture of a flying bird.

The photographer is pleased to be nominated as a Hasselblad Masters Finalist. He was amongst the 100 Finalists selected from over 3,000 digital photographers from all over the world. Frank is alongside 10 additional photographers chosen for the “General” category. You can vote online for him on the Hasselblad website until 15 December 2009. The “Masters on Tour“ exhibition, with over 100 selected images, is on show in Hong Kong, Copenhagen, New York and London

In addition to this, Frank’s “Skypool“ image has also been nominated for the Hahnemühle Anniversary Photo Award. An international panel of judges reviewed 7,100 photos and chose a final 40 to be included in the Hahnemühle Anniversary Collection, which will tour as an exhibition in 2010.
