Kristina Korb : editorials for FACES, ELLE DECORATION and TELEGRAPH, ARTBUYERS calendar 2010 as well as LAUREL look book and newcomers
Five in the morning at a police station: four feisty ‘tough cookies’ are waiting to be questioned. Photographer Affonso GAVINHA recreated a somewhat different after-hour situation in the studio for FACES magazine. After some cat fights at the police station, the girls managed to simmer down and share the cramped conditions.
The styling was carried out by JACQUELINE Abrahams c/o GoSee member ARTISTGROUPMIERAU, the tough cookies comprised BAILEY Titanich and JULIANE Dreer c/o GoSee member M4 MODELS, Veza Wallenberg and Tatjana Fischer.
Affonso photographed the latest LAURÈL look book with models including the first ever winner of Germany’s Next Top Model - Lena Gercke. He was especially happy about their reunion as she is always incredibly focused. The make-up was applied by DORIS Holzapfel and MELANIE-MARIE Kania, both c/o ARTISGROUPMIERAU.
Affonso is also the cover photographer of the new ARTBUYERS CALENDAR 2010. The styling was once again realised by JACQUELINE.
He worked his jolly charm to the max for the cover shoot of Michael Mittermeier’s latest book, titled ‘Achtung Baby!’. Comedian Michael Mittermaier and the art work team grape.media.design, with Creative Director Dirk Cloos had barrels of fun producing the motif. The title will be published by KIEPENHEUER&WITSCH in February 2010.
Andreas ACHMANN photographed the cover story of the latest issue of ELLE DECORATION on the subject of table decoration. The festive arrangement was created by Isabel Arnhold and Otto Husten. Andreas shot the image campaign, look book and in-store motifs for fashion brand MORE & MORE’s upcoming summer collection. When it came to the JETCAM campaign he was inspired by the Sopranos mafia TV drama series. The morbid style was in keeping with Andreas’ fondness of ‘memento mori’.
Dirk SPATH photographed a promotion series at Waterloo train station in London for the TELEGRAPH in cooperation with HARRODS. The creative directors were Dawn Squance (The Telegraph) and James Chittenden (Harrods). The team also comprised Harrods Product Manager Fiona Burgess, stylist Clare Watson, hair and make-up artist Yvette Redmond and model Robert Sabel. The digital assistant was Klaus Madengruber and the product management was taken over by Beth Wightman.
A very cheeky motif by Dirk features on the back of the current ARTBUYERS CALENDAR 2010. Model Ryan Tilley pulled the provocative pose, whilst Ronald Becker headed the production and HEIKO Palach c/o GoSee member STERNENFÄNGER took care of the hair and make-up. Jessica Heisig was the fashion assistant.
Rather than the usual tale of receiving one’s first camera as a present, it all started for newcomer Susanne SPIEL in a different way. Her story begins with an apprenticeship and a desire for a job that would be fun. Photography became her passion, the apprenticeship a necessary evil. This was a followed by a break to re-orientate herself. Before she started to focus on photography, Susanne began concentrating on graphics and typography. Either way, photography has always been her true love.
She has been in the studio or on location since 2003, and light still remains her primary passion. Pictures with stories, that’s what has always fascinated her – told in various realms of light. She is inspired by Herb Ritts, Javier Vallhonrat and Horst P. Horst, as well as Erwin Olaf, whom she looks up to as an ideal story teller. GoSee presents excerpts from Susanne’s portfolio.
Matthias JUST is also new. He has worked as a freelance photographer in the Commercial and Editorial sectors since 1990. Matthias has collaborated with renowned agencies and clients. His specialities include Landscape, Transpiration and People.
