NEW : Karin Berndl, photographer, London - Silver for BOOKLET, Bronze for VOGUE and PHOTOGRAPHER OF THE YEAR at the AOP Awards 09

London-based photographer Karin Berndl is a NEW addition to GoSee. Observant GoSee readers are probably already familiar with her work for BOOKLET magazine.

She recently collected several prizes at this year’s AOP Awards. Her LE RAT series, a homage to French street artist Blek, saw her win Silver in the "commissioned still life series" category, whilst her series for GERMAN VOGUE was commended with the Bronze distinction in the aforementioned category.

And as if that wasn’t enough, the lovely Austrian lady was also awarded the AOP Photographer of the Year 2009 title. Our sincere congratulations!

This year the award went into its 26th round and it is a name to be reckoned with, also outside of London – another fact which the GoSee reader is already acquainted with. Work can be entered into 19 categories.

The awards ceremony took place at Sadler's Wells Theatre in London. This year only five Silver awards were handed over and a total of 23 Bronze. The winning motifs – including a total of 10 by Karin – can be admired in the AOP Photographers Awards Book.
