Anja Frers : in Uptown New York for ICON magazine and at a deserted theme park for MADAME

Photographer Anja Frers jetted to NY to shoot a fashion special for ICON magazine with stylist to the stars Eric Daman.

Following ‘Sex and the City’, Eric also styled ‘Gossip Girl’. “The series is set in uptown New York, which Eric had just as little knowledge of as I did before the job” – according to Anja.

Anja made the most of the flight and watched the entire DVD collection of the series. This has resulted in her almost being labelled as a fan of the uptown Gossip Girls….

Following a powerful storm, which almost sent the team flying off the roof of the Standard Hotel, they were able to retire to their suites with views of NY. Big Apple-based DEYCKE Heidorn c/o STERNENFÄNGER was in charge of the hair and make-up.

The uptown models were Lisa and the young and promising MATVEY Lykov c/o M4 MODELS from Russia, who has already posed for Jil Sander and starred in her shows. Anja worked closely together with Maria Schinz c/o DIGITAL-MAKE-UP on the final retouch.

Anja’s work also features in the latest issue of MADAME. She created fairytale motifs on the subject of ‘magic times’ in the deserted Plänterwald theme park with Norwegian model Ingerid Maske.

The theme park was opened in 1969 with a surface area of 29.5 hectares and was the only amusement park in the German Democratic Republic.

Hanni Pontani c/o Madame took care of the styling, whilst Nina Park perfected the hair and make-up; BLINK IMAGING retouched the series.
