Blaublut Edition : presents photographs by Indira CESARINE, Bill GEORGOUSSIS and Roger WEBER - photographs rooted in fine art and cinema and the popular at-home-in-the-world approach
Indira Cesarine's passion for photography was shown early at the tender age of 16 in a solo exhibition. While finishing a triple major in Art History, French Literature and Women's Studies she was already shooting for prestigious model agencies in New York.
The pursuit of love of photography led her to London, where her work sparked the interest of some of the world's top creative directors. Indira’s parallel interest in directing, producing and editing short films and video art, is reflected in the composition of her images. She doesn’t shy away from experimentation and varies lighting, colours and textures, creating a unique approach to her talented universe.
Her work is constantly exhibited in the most prestigious galleries and has also been selected for Dolce and Gabanna’s 20th Anniversary book, out in September 2010.
Bill Georgoussis artistic and cinematic background clearly surfaces in his photographs. His emotional scenes are created by very carefully choosing the locations and lighting to achieve a theatrical effect.
He sculpts his - mostly female - subjects with an intense use of light and shade to emerge like vibrant characters of a film noir, solitary figures with windswept clothes forlorn on a blossoming meadow. Their presence is deep and the chosen surroundings highlight the message with a cinematic atmosphere.
Bill was born in Melbourne and having resided in London and New York, now lives in Athens – a return to his Greek roots.
Fashion photographer Roger Weber was born in Munich and, after stints in London and New York, is now based in Hamburg. He travels a lot for productions and the foot-loose ease with which he trails the globe comes across in his photographs. It appears that he is very much at-home-in-the-world and adapts to locations to capture the specific mood and mystique wherever he may be.
Women are the focus of his camerawork. The variety of his approaches enables him to capture a kaleidoscope of feminine moods. His images of the models depict such intimate and personal perspectives, that one is tempted to engage in a conversation with them.
His work is currently exhibited at the international Festival of Fashion Photography in Cannes.
