recom : CGI for LEXUS USA, MERCEDES, HANSGROHE and post for GQ-Style, QUALITY magazine, ABSOLUT and at the UPdate 2011
RecomCGI travelled to Los Angeles and Las Vegas with photographer Thomas Strogalski to produce CGI motifs for American agency Teamone LA and their client LEXUS 16.
recomCGI used new VRED (www.pi-vr.de) real time software on set to visualise the virtual vehicles in the photographic backplates, so as to define the perspectives and picture composition with Thomas Strogalski and Kevin Mitchel (AD).
The pre-vis data was simultaneously used in the recom Headoffice in Stuttgart with the same software, enabling them to begin preliminary work and the CGI production.
For the exclusively night and dusk motifs that needed to be produced, RecomCGI premiered their new HDR system by the LizardQ company (www.lizardq.com), which enables full automatic HDR spheres with up to 30-f-stops and a resolution of 100 mega pixels to be produced at a rate of just 1.5 minutes, even in bad lighting situations.
In addition to all vehicles, a motif of a magnet monorail was also set into the location per CGI (supervision: Thomas Strogalski).
Afterwards Thomas Strogalski worked as a supervisor with recomCGI for Hamburg-based agency Lukas Lindemann Rosinski and produced 4 FULL CGI motifs for a ‘VIANO Avantgarde’ campaign.
Additional full CGI motifs of bathroom armatures and architecture were created for HANSGROHE online. These were used for print and web purposes, as well as a touchscreen configurator at the ‘ISH – world expo for bathrooms’. (Agency: Kolle Rebbe Hamburg)
GoSee Member MARC TRAUTMANN commissioned recomCGI with the post-production of the ‘bank robbery’ portfolio motif. Both the latest MERCEDES AMG CLS63 and breaking glass were generated using CGI. More motifs will follow shortly.
A whole multi-page editorial by Ralph Mecke (styling: Yilmaz Aktepe) was post-produced by recomCGI in Stuttgart for the current GQ STYLE.
Yves Borgwardt’s 18 shots for a QUALITY magazine editorial and cover were post-produced by recomBERLIN.
The latest ABSOLUT VODKA motif, conceptually supervised by TBWA, London and shot by Arhtur Woodcroft, was edited in the London recomOFFICE and can be admired in London as a city light and 18/1 posters.
As loyal exhibitors from the first year onwards, the RECOM team is once again looking forward to this Friday and receiving visitors, creatives and friends for viewings of the freshly printed portfolios and a nice glass of something special.
