Institut Néerlandais, Paris: Archéologie du futur - 20 years of trends by Li Edelkoort

Archaeology of the future: trend researcher Li Edlekoort has spent over 20 years sharing her forecasts with us – and she has won the test of time. Her first retrospective demonstrates how the forecasted trends weren’t isolated, existing moods, but tendencies that were to change our lives.

The exhibition will present design items, fashion, photographs from all over the world, as well as audiovisual material from Li’s archives. These include 10 photos by Thomas STRAUB, fashion and still life photographer from Paris. Thomas is represented by GoSee member EYEMADE, Paris.

Li Edelkoort is a trend researcher, in 2003 TIME magazine announced her as one of the most influential personalities in fashion, in 2008 she was awarded the "Médaille de Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres" by the French Ministry of Culture. Her magazines "View on Colour" and "Bloom", as well as trend reports for Trend Union are internationally acclaimed, the same goes for her work presented at the Design Academy Eindhoven and the Designhuis.

The Parisian L'Institut Néerlandais was founded in 1957 and is one of the oldest foreign cultural centres. It organises various cultural events, including exhibitions, concerts, film screenings, colloquies. In addition to this, a good 500 French language enthusiasts attend the institution’s Dutch courses.
