Corbis Images new search engine - improved search relevance, higher search results, individual filter - and GoSee in search of poolside celebrities

Corbis Images launched its new search engine, which was developed after intensive discussions and talks with clients, plus lots of technical finesse. As such, the loading time of pictures has been decreased and the relevance of the searched and found pictures improved considerably.

An example: when entering the keyword(s) 'Tiger Woods', the search result used to be a tiger in the jungle instead of the golf player. However, the new search engine makes sure that only the desired person – Tiger Woods – pops up on the screen.

Other improvements are:

* Visual Search
* Guided Navigation
* Facial recognition
* Concept Search
* Filter options for angle, orientation, a person's age, etc.

At www.corbisimages.com/content/searchtips, picture buyers will find an interactive presentation of the new search engine's features. We tested the search engine with no holds barred and it worked. Searching for Marilyn Monroe at the pool revealed beautiful swimwear motifs and we were surprised by the result of 'Madonna and Pool' and literally enraptured when we searched for Lady Gaga at the pool – a royal audience with the pop diva.

'Trends in Sight' is the name of the Corbis Images' area that constantly churns out current tendencies in the world of photography. At the moment, technology is the buzzword of the day: a continuous array of new developments keeps people hooked and they too want to re-invent themselves, be clever and smart. The idea is to master the daily challenges with the highest degree of creativity possible. Since so much information is available everywhere for free, innovation is becoming the true emphasis of future developments.

The SMART HAPPENS photo collection explores how an increased relevance of intelligent action and thinking makes a positive impact on our world.
