Corbis : "Luminaries Library" four limited edition picture volumes
Everyone knows them – photos, that wrote history. Albert Einstein recklessly flashing his tongue to reporters, builders sat at dizzying heights on a steel glider, Marilyn Monroe in a white dress standing over an air vent. These are but a few photos that are included in the famous Bettmann Archive, acquired by Corbis in 1995.
Thus, Corbis have more than a good reason to release a volume that deals with the Bettman archive and its other historic archives, all to celebrate the “Luminaries Library” series, recently launched by Corbis. The first series comprises four volumes that are fitted in a sophisticated, dark slipcase.
Another volume shows the highlights of zefa, a collection particularly popular with creative people, sporting a European lifestyle touch. Zefa's art directors search for the latest trends and influences in society and transform these into an innovative form of pictorial expression.
The third volume of the series deals with the “Duets” concept. This presents photographs of couples and of all other things that go together, realized with lots of esprit and function as impulse givers for creative ideas.
The modern street art collection “Thunderdog collective”, sees Corbis celebrate the strong influence of comics and illustrators in advertising and media in general. This volume shows numerous examples of the diversity of street artists, that are under contract at Corbis.
The Luminaries Library is not for sale in retail, but exclusively reserved as a limited edition for Corbis top customers. More info at www.corbis.com
