Cutting Edges Contemporary Collage - the art of the collage without any ifs or buts

We have all had our fair share of playtime with glue and paper and the result has not always necessarily been art. But they were collages after all. Hence, the collage is both part of our everyday life and art.

The book ‘Cutting Edges’ exemplifies the fact that some creative professionals manage to turn collages into great artworks.

It is an admitted fact that some time has passed since the collage’s heyday, but it seems we are witnessing a shift in the trend and who would have thought that the computer, of all things, is responsible for reviving this traditional art form.

Montages can be created in next to no time; visual effects tumble out of the programme, faster than you can click. The arrow dashes across the screen and pushes, turns, distorts – what a delight!

And so is the book. We were pleased to discover quite a few artist which we had already introduced here on GoSee, such as Linder (remember – the woman without a brain) or Maria WAGNER c/o 2AGENTEN amongst the many new, exciting names.

A great way of finding many new creative friends, not just for us . . .
