From Banksy to Candida Höfer. With the Just Around the Corner Charity Art Auction and Sotheby’s auction house fundraiser for Kenya!

The Samburu are a warrior and nomad folk and like their relatives, the Massai, they live in Kenya. Their livelihood is the livestock they travel with and they do not rely on help – except for a water supply and the preservation of their natural habitat. Art can help. The Just Around the Corner Art Auction at The Kistefos Museum is Oslo is making it happen.

Thanks to the generous support of collectors, artists and gallerists from all over the world, modern and contemporary works by international artists feature in this event.

The art auction is being held by the Sotheby’s auction house, which has declined to take a commission for this fundraising event. Sotheby’s Europe Vice President Lord Poltimore will bang the hammer. It will be Sotheby’s first auction in Norway.

We have attached a selection of the lots. Artists include Anna Gaskell, Banksy, Morten Krogvold, Candida Höfer, Dolk, Vibeke Tandberg, Tom Sandberg, Tobjorn Rodland, Pobel, Dag Alveng, Bjarne Melgaard and Eline Mugaas.

Blomqvist Kunsthandel will be hosting a preview of the works on sale in Oslo from the 19th to the 21st May. On Sunday the 22nd of May Lord Poltimore will then call out going once, going twice …
