GoSee Tip : Das grosse Dummy Buch. Absolutely politically incorrect & ridiculous & addictive & not for the faint hearted

‘The most urban product on the German magazine market” is 'Die Welt' magazine’s comment on DUMMY. You can freely swap the expression urban to be honest. Dirty would fit too. How lovely.

An acid trip through Switzerland, in bed with a disabled person or in the archive of the Amsterdam police force: the large DUMMY book collects the best stories and photo-stories from Germany's multi-award-winning magazine.

For eight years, Berlin-based DUMMY magazine has been dedicated to covering socially relevant topics – designed by an ever-changing team of visual artists, authors and photographers who enjoy indulging in political incorrectness and formal freedom.

The result is 30 magazines, each of which proves the point that the magazine remains an essential cultural asset in times of the Internet and iPad. Not since Twen and Jasmin has there been a magazine that makes journalism so full of passion and emphasis of sociological issues. No surprise that DUMMY has a fan base that stretches far wider than Berlin.

Oliver Gehrs, born in 1968, studied politics and economy in Berlin. Upon graduation, he visited the Deutsche Journalistenschule school of journalism in Berlin and became a TAZ media editor. He went on to become a writer at Berliner Zeitung, economy correspondent for the Spiegel and editor-in-chief of the Süddeutschen Zeitung. In 2002, he founded DUMMY magazine. In 2005, he published a biography of SPIEGEL magazine and its former editor-in-chief, Stefan Aust.

Natascha Roshani was born in Berlin in 1964 and studied communication design at the Hochschule der Künste in Berlin. Later on, she would go on to work in advertising and television as the author of contemporary documentaries. She is Oliver's partner (September 2011, Berlin).
