Rewilding - the somewhat different girls book by photographer Cass Bird

Silicone-free topless girls, hairy girls, sweaty girls, dirty girls, smoking and pissing girls... they haven't been banned from being seen in public just yet.

It figures that Cass Bird called her very provocative book 'Rewilding', the return to the primitive state.

As far as commercial productions are concerned, she works for such magazines as NY Times T Magazine – we still remember the mercilessly polished portrait of Viggo ! 'Rewilding' is our book recommendation of the week.

Here is an excerpt of the press release: ‘..... In the summers of 2009 and 2010, Bird travelled to Sassafrass, Tennessee, with a group of young women, a wardrobe of diaphanous dresses and a camera.

These women - studio assistants, friends, or women cast from the streets of New York - had been selected by Bird for their ease with their sexual identities, but also for their relative awkwardness in front of the lens.

The result was Rewilding, a joyous portrait of modern femininity and a frolicking celebration of women's camaraderie.’
