Hahnemühle : award winners armed with paper & the Green Rooster Initiative
Each year, the Messe Frankfurt, in cooperation with German specialist publication HobbyArt, award the Creative Impulse innovation prize. This year, the innovative bamboo paper types Bamboo 265 and Bamboo 290 were crowned with the first prize in the Creative Product of the Year category.
Hahnemühle, the traditional artist paper manufacturers, created the paper types from the fibres of the highly sustainable Bamboo plant. The Bamboo 265 paper can be used universally as a high quality painting and sketching paper and the Bamboo 290 is the worlds first digital fine art paper made from Bamboo fibres for premium inkjet prints. Traditional artists, fine art specialists and photographers are all fans of the naturally white, warm tone art paper which has a sumptuous texture to it.
In addition to this, Hahnemühles environmentally friendly initiative, Green Rooster, was also awarded with the Marketing Concept of the Year. The international project was a success through its sheer commitment and innovation. Hahnemühle donate a percentage of all proceeds from the Bamboo paper ranges to environmental projects. Clients and others that are interested can become active in the Green Rooster Initiative by voting for their favourite project on the www.green-rooster.com website. Furthermore, they also provide the opportunity of becoming a partner of the environmental initiative there are already over 20 friends of the House of Hahnemühle.
For example, one of the projects is the Alaotra Lake in Madagascar: over 600,000 people live around Madagascars largest natural water reservation. The reed and papyrus belts, which provide unique eco systems in the lake are endangered.
The waters of the South West coast of Canary island, La Gomera, provide the unique opportunity of observing over 20 breeds of whale and dolphins from up close. The past few years have seen a development of a boom in international tourism, which in turn has become a serious threat to the environment. The M.E.E.R. e.V. organisation have made it their aim to protect the animals natural environment. You can find out more on the other projects on the aforementioned website.
