Hatje Cantz presents : Contemporary Landscapes, the annual calendar has returned !

Following an almost thirty year break and in memory of Gerd Hatje, the publishers have chose the year 2009 to revive Gerd Hatje’s long established tradition of the annual calendar. This will include landscape photographs by Olaf Otto Becker, Mathieu Bernard-Reymond, Fran Darius, Andreas Gefeller, Peter Granser, Tiina Itkonen, Izima Kaoru, Jürgen Nefzger, Michael Reisch, Hans-Christian Schink, Alfred Seiland and many more.

Gerd Hatje himself selected the motifs up until the 80s, and each year numerous loyal clients would eagerly await his elusive calendar. Markus Hartmann has compiled the first new issue of the publisher’s calendar, it is in keeping with the tradition and its qualitative standards, yet has his own added contemporary twist on today’s landscape photography.
