Picture Press : home of photography legend Reinhart Wolf's estate, renowned for his food aesthetic and skyscraper documentaries

GoSee presents photographs of skyscrapers as well as food motifs by Reinhart Wolf (1930-1988). The photographer had been a crucial influence on the food aesthetics of the 1980s, a topic that is just as exciting today as it was back then. Many of his yummy pictures were published in STERN magazine. There is even an award named after him.

However, his architecture photographs also enjoy their fair share of the game; his picture book on New York's skyscrapers became a bestseller.

“His estate manager Jutta Buer enquired at Picture Press in 2002 whether if we would be interested in being the new home of his photographic inheritance. We scanned materials from his first book publications and tagged them. The result is a beautiful range of analogue Reinhart Wolf-Material in our archive”, said Christiane Bremer to GoSee.

From still lifes, to portraits and skyscrapers – the marketing matters of German photographer Reinhart Wolf's inheritance lie with PICTURE PRESS, according to the wish of Wolf estate manager Jutta Buer.

Reinhart Wolf had been a founding member and president of the Art Director's in Germany and New York, member of numerous expert panels, guest lecturer at various universities and also had countless solo exhibitions. He was awarded the Kulturpreis der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Photographie as well as several gold medals by the ADC. Reinhart Wolf passed away on the 10th of November 1988 in Hamburg.

The Reinhart Wolf award has been awarded since 2002, together with the BFF newcomer award. Whichever graduation work the jury deems to be the 'Best of the best' receives the Reinhart Wolf award on top of the other awards.
