Moonblinx Gallery, Frankfurt : "Facing Future" - artistic stance in credit crunch times
In their latest exhibition, FACING FUTURE, the Moonblinx Gallery, Frankfurt are touching on the subject of the credit crunch. The gallery are once again bravely getting involved in contemporary affairs. In addition to the “Jahrhundertmensch” (= century human) exhibition, which will soon be shown at the Vienna Town Hall, Moonblinx are setting new artistic standards. “We have to find a language for the dimension of this crisis; photo art intensifies and clarifies important human characteristics, which is what is currently called for”, says Junji Ohta, Director of the Moonblinx Gallery.
The exhibition includes portraits by Mario Schmolkawhich, which embody a protective aura; Alexander Babic’s robust Fight Club scenes, Sung-Hee Seewald’s longing for perfect beauty in these difficult times, Charlen Christoph’s daring self experiments, Diana Djeddi’s depiction of the confusion within today’s politics, Polish photo star Edward Hartwig’s (1909-2003) experimental pieces which deal with the timeless aspect of human generosity and a selection of Karsten Thormaehlen’s century humans that have already survived an array of crises.
