Corbis : GreenLight selected to represent the rights of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and the Norm Marshall Group

GreenLight manages advertising, promotion and merchandise for legendary civil rights activist Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

GreenLight, LLC (www.greenlightrights.com), a global media licensing, talent negotiation and rights representation consultancy, has been selected to represent Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., one of the most recognized and respected leaders of the civil rights movement. This is the first time that Dr. King's estate has engaged with an external agency to commercially represent rights to his name, image and likeness.

"Dr. King had an unrelenting passion for civil rights and injustices, which lives on to this day through the work of the King Center," said Stephen Rubino, president and chief executive officer for the Estate of Martin Luther King Jr. "GreenLight represents many of the world's greatest icons and we believe that, together with GreenLight, we can extend the reach of Dr. King's legacy."

"Dr. King is recognized as one of the most influential civil rights activists of all time, but he was also a minister, human rights advocate, dynamic leader, and dedicated family man. Our assignment is to present the totality of the man by creating meaningful partnerships with a variety of global brands." said David Reeder, vice president of GreenLight. "His image has become a symbol for freedom, justice and equality and we are honoured to represent a man who embodies such enduring values and principles."

GreenLight, a wholly owned subsidiary of Corbis, is the world's leading provider of rights clearances and rights representation, including the name, image and likeness rights to many of the world's most famous personas.

Dr. King joins a prestigious group represented by GreenLight that includes; Albert Einstein, Steve McQueen, Muhammad Ali, Charlie Chaplin, Thomas Edison, Johnny Cash and the Wright Brothers. Together, Corbis and GreenLight are uniquely positioned to package both image and personality rights efficiently for ad and corporate clients due to the extensive collection of MLK images in the Corbis archive and GreenLight's expertise in commercial licensing.

And more: Corbis has purchased Norm Marshall & Associates (NMA Group). The NMA Group is the world-leader in entertainment marketing and product placement.

"Corbis is committed to helping global brands break through the clutter of today's advertising market by providing the industry's first comprehensive and integrated approach to connect brands with global entertainment," said Gary Shenk, chief executive officer of Corbis. "By combining NMA Group's strengths in product placement and entertainment marketing with GreenLight's expertise in celebrity and music clearances, we now offer unprecedented connectivity between global brands and the entertainment community."

Established in 1979, Norm Marshall & Associates (NMA Group) is the leading entertainment marketing agency representing the world's top brands to the entertainment industry through product placements and media coverage. NMA has coordinated thousands of iconic placements in some of the industry's most popular film and television productions. Its clients include General Motors, Heineken, Motorola, Puma and Xbox.

"We have been connecting global brands with the industry's premiere film and broadcast productions for over 30 years," said Norm Marshall, chief executive officer and founder of the NMA Group. "With the entertainment industry model rapidly shifting toward digital and interactive distribution, Corbis' global footprint and existing relationships in the entertainment and creative industries will allow us to expand our services, increase our global reach and accelerate growth."

"The full suite of specialty services NMA and GreenLight offers is unmatched in the market today. Together with GreenLight, Corbis now offers the entertainment industry's only complete solution for brand integration with entertainment across all types of media. The NMA Group will operate under the Corbis brand as an independent business unit.
