Elysée Lausanne : reGeneration2 - the project that determines young photography's place today
What interests young photographers today? How do they see the world? And what do they consequently offer us?
Although each generation takes joy in indulgently burying its predecessors, several heads are spared, either in sympathy or with a sense of tradition – this is open to debate – the survivors are then stylised through the mass media and market economy to become fully functioning icons.
As for the rest, cries of “off with their heads” are enthusiastically met.
We aren’t in the slightest bit scared, on the contrary, we are looking forward to the results and delight in the show..
The reGeneration Project – according to the Musée de l'Elysée – the widest spanning project of its kind – already started in 2005 and is set on finding an answer.
The success of the project led to exhibitions in 10 cities in North America, Europe and Asia.
The second edition features 80 highly flammable talents from 30 countries.
