Tomas Rodriguez : free 1950s style kids production and new photos for Dustin Semmelrogge

Back to the roots was Dortmund raised Tomas Rodriguez’ motto as he took off for the 'Ruhrgebiet' (an urban industrial by Westphalia, Germany). Here, he photographed and filmed children in a 1950s style.

To capture just the right feel to evoke past times, they met at an industrial site on a regular autumn day, the perfect backdrop for the shoot.

The kids followed old, somewhat ramshackle train tracks, on their journey of discovery. Large farmlands, perfect for a quick game of football, overgrown fields, which turn an ordinary stroll with a dolly pram into a great adventure.

Besides the photography, Tomas manned the film camera, directed, supervised the editing and the soundtrack – a true one-man band!

Tomas captured the many faces of 29-year-old actor DUSTIN SEMMELROGGE for a second time round. The current portfolio photographs, which were realised at Tomas' studio, as well as on location in Cologne, present the thespian diversity of acting legend Martin Semmelrogge's son.

The studio business-like shots, which depict the actor dressed in a suave suit, are the complete opposite of the outdoor images. Nonchalance, coolness and a distinct touch of daredevil's charm distinguish the pictures, which see him sporting jeans, a leather jacket and smoking cigarettes.

Tomas is currently working on a production in Cape Town. The results will soon be featured here on GoSee.
