Rose Blake
Rose Blake is an illustrator and artist. She studied illustration and animation at Kingston University, and an MA at the Royal College of Art. She was awarded the D & AD Best New Blood Award and was recently shortlisted for the AOI prize and the World Illustration Awards.
Her jewel-like, mixed media art explores the beauty of relationships and humanity in a relatable, sometimes whimsical, sometimes sophisticated way. Blake grew up in the Art World, and vast museum-scapes often provide a backdrop, in a stage, in a work that explores a rich narrative and interaction between an individual and an array of idiosyncratic individuals. A couple exchanging flowers, a child's hand-in-hand with their parents, their droopy teddy almost lost in the movement, and a yoga-loving bystander is entertained by a giddy cluster of school children with matching backpacks.
