Swiss photographer René Burri (1933–2014) found himself wherever history was happening. A member of Magnum Photos since 1955, he has photographed in Southeast Asia, in the Middle East and documented the Vietnam War in the 1960s. His extraordinary sense for people and their personalities resulted in remarkably candid portraits of celebrities and ordinary people alike.
