For Numéro Magazine Clemens Ascher confronts us with the ethos of the American Dream. Expanding on his previous work, he created ironically amplified scenarios in which he questions the effects of capitalism, governmental control and the role of women in our Western society. Blending concept with fashion, the story focuses on a stylish female tourist and her unusual encounters on her fictitious road trip. In post we composited the staged landscapes with two dimensional architectural elements, plugged in people, animals and props and played with the scale of things to draw the attention to the protagonist. Kate Brown, at our London studio, greatly enjoyed working with Clemens on developing a deeply saturated, analog film look which ties together this bold series.
